Biathlon: Oscar Lombardot reassures himself
Early on Friday afternoon, the men’s sprint at the IBU Biathlon Cup in Geilo (Norway) took place at the Geilo Skiarena. As expected, the local biathletes dominated the proceedings with a hat-trick of victories from Martin Uldal (9/10), Johan-Olav Botn (8/10) and Sverre Dahlen Aspenes (9/10).
Leading from start to finish, the winner of the day took advantage of two errors by his runner-up, who was faster on skis, to win by a margin of 13.9 seconds. Germany’s Roman Rees (10/10) just missed out on the top 3 by 2 sec 1, whileIsak Frey (9/10), after three wins in a row on the circuit, had to be content with fifth place.
In sixth place, the last place to take part in the flower ceremony, was Oscar Lombardot from Doubt (8/10). In great form on the track (fourth fastest time), the ES Saugette biathlete finished 45 sec 5 off the lead , reassuring himself after some disappointing recent outings. Théo Guiraud-Poillot (9/10) was tenth, while Gaëtan Paturel (8/10) was twelfth and Axel Garnier (9/10) eighteenth.
Finally, Damien Levet (7/10) was thirty-eighth and Martin Botet (7/10) sixty-first.
