Biathlon : no races in Haute-Savoie for Gilonne Guigonnat
On Monday morning, the most eagerly awaited selection of the season was announced for theFrench biathlon team. While the World Cup caravan sets off for France this week, there was still some doubt on Sunday evening as to which female athlete would be leaving the ranks of the French team after the stage in Hochfilzen (Austria).

Twenty-sixth in the overall ranking and the last Frenchwoman to appear in it, Gilonne Guigonnat has not been selected to take part in the Haute-Savoie events scheduled from Thursday to Sunday. Despite finishing a fine top 10 in the Austrian pursuit, the resident of the Villard sur Boëge ski club (Haute-Savoie) has had to pay the price for the huge numbers in the French clan.
This is the only change to be noted in the blue team. In the women’s category, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Lou Jeanmonnot, Sophie Chauveau, Julia Simon, Océane Michelon and Jeanne Richard, both of whom will be competing for the first time in front of the French public, will be defending the blue, white and red colours.

For the men’s team, it’s the same old team all over again. Fabien Claude, Emilien Jacquelin, Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Eric Perrot, Antonin Guigonnat and Emilien Claude, who are also back in the limelight at the start of the winter season, will be keen to shine in the Aravis.
