There was no photo op in the men’spursuit at the biathlon world cup in Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie), held this Saturday lunchtime under the sun of the Aravis mountains. Johannes Thingnes Boe confirmed his status as the leader of the world circuit with a benchmark race.

Wearing the yellow overall leader’s bib, the Norwegian is determined not to let it go. By taking the 90 points for victory, the world number one has extended his lead over his nearest rival, compatriot Sturla Holm Lægreid, to 105 points.

Frenchmen Emilien Jacquelin and Eric Perrot have moved back up in the rankings following their one-two finishes in the race’s top 3. The Dauphinois remains third with a 10-point lead over his Savoyard team-mate on the eve of the final mass-start of this Haute-Savoie stage.
