Biathlon: a little piece of France in the British Olympic squad
In a press release issued on Monday, theBritish Olympic Association announced the official selections of biathletes Shawna Pendry and Jacques Jefferies for the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
Both have won a quota for their country thanks to their performances since the start of the winter, so it’s only logical that they should have these places for the competitions organised in Antholz (Italy) from 8 to 21 February.
Being selected to represent Great Britain at my first Winter Olympics is an incredible feeling,” explains Jacques Jefferies, who until last winter was defending the French colours. The Olympics represent the pinnacle of our sport and have always been a dream of mine. To know that years of hard work to get here have paid off is extremely gratifying.

England’s Shawna Pendry said she was “incredibly proud to have been selected” for the Olympic Games. “It’s an incredible feeling and very exciting. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to be on the start line,” she continued.
This is the first time since Pyeongchang 2018 that British biathletes have been selected for the Olympics.
