Biathlon: the Estonian selections have delivered their verdict
On Sunday evening, a few hours after the end of the Swedish opening races in Idre Fjäll(Sweden), in which the Estonians took part by way of selection, the Estonian Biathlon Federation revealed the list of those selected for the World Cup in Östersund (Sweden).
In this first stage of the Olympic season, the main news comes from the women’s group with the presence of 32-year-old Grete Gaim. Youth world champion in the pursuit in 2012, she has already started 93 World Cup races. However, she has since fallen into a depression and hasn’t put her skates on since January 2021.
The Tartu (Estonia) native will be joined by Susan Kuelm, Regina Ermits and Tuuli Tomingas. On the men’s side, Rene Zahkna, Kristo Siimer, Mark-Markos Kehva, Jakob Kulbin and Mehis Udam have been selected.
