Biathlon: continuation of the Hochfilzen stage this Saturday with the pursuits
This Saturday, the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen (Austria) continues with the first races of the 2024/2025 season. First up, at 12.15pm, the women’s race gets underway with Germany’s Franziska Preuss leading the way. Sophie Chauveau is 8 seconds behind, followed by Karoline Knotten at 10, Lou Jeanmonnot at 22, Selina Grotian at 30, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet at 31, Marketa Davidova at 36, Anamarija Lampic at 39, Dorothea Wierer at 40 and Milena Todorova at 44.
Further back, Ella Halvarsson (+47 sec), Julia Simon (+50 sec), Paulina Batovska Fialkova (+54 sec), blue bib Océane Michelon (+55 sec), Maren Kirkeeide (+1 min 0), Lena Haecki-Gross (+1 min 5), Elvira Oeberg (+1 min 8), Anna Gandler (+1 min 9), Julia Tannheimer (+1 min 11), Gilonne Guigonnat (+1 min 16), Lisa Theresa Hauser (+1 min 17) and Jeanne Richard (+1 min 18).

Then, at 2.45pm, Norwegian Johannes Thingnes Boe will kick off the men’s pursuit. But he was soon followed by Sturla Holm Lægreid at 4 seconds, Fabien Claude and Endre Stroemsheim at 7, Vebjoern Soerum at 20, Sebastian Samuelsson at 21 and Martin Uldal and Philipp Nawrath at 22.
Among the other Frenchmen, Eric Perrot (+45 sec) and Emilien Jacquelin (+49 sec) are not so far from the lead and could make some fine comebacks. As could Tarjei Boe (+1 min 13), Antonin Guigonnat (+1 min 16), Vitalii Mandzyn (+1 min 34), Quentin Fillon-Maillet (+1 min 39), Simon Kaiser (+1 min 44), Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen (+1 min 52) and Emilien Claude (+1 min 57).
