Biathlon: what Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold has to say
A few days ago, Norwegian biathlete Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold was a guest on the “Big 5 med Nils og Harald” podcast, in which she spoke about her relationship with the media, who are sometimes harsh with her in Norway.
“It feels like a bubble, she began. In fact, I don’t feel like they think of me as a human being, but rather they think of the click bait they can create [with me]. It’s about bringing out feelings, disappointments and quotes.”
An episode that took place during the world championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland) angered Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold in particular. She had just put in a poor performance in the mixed relay, finishing fourth, and journalists came to question her mother.

“My mum had jumped three hurdles to give me a hug and they said, ‘Give me an interview and tell me how horrible it is’. It made me want to boycott, but I don’t dare, she admits. I’m just trying to give a boring answer, but I can’t, I’m a bad actress.”
However, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold reveals that she now behaves differently in the media. “I try not to be completely myself in the media, she says. Obviously it doesn’t work, but I try to give politically correct and boring answers.”
