Biathlon: Johannes Thingnes sets another record
On Saturday, after winning the sprint, Johannes Thingnes Boe made no secret of his desire to win all the individual world titles at this 2025 edition of the biathlon world championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland). Starting with a comfortable lead in Sunday’s pursuit, the Norwegian never wavered.

Despite missing two balls on the shooting range, the Scandinavian was never troubled. Although Campbell Wright put in a fine performance in the final round, the man with numerous Olympic and world medals did what he had to do to cross the line first and claim his twelfth individual world title.
A new record, as he became the first athlete in his discipline to achieve this feat, making him the greatest biathlete of all time. In the finish area, however, the biathlete from Stryn (Norway) appeared marked. “It’s really nice. Yesterday was already incredible, but I wasn’t as tired after the finish,” he admitted to TV2. It took all my energy. I feel completely drained.

In front of his father’s eyes, the future retiree impressed and is already making people regret his planned departure at the end of the winter: “It almost makes me laugh to think that he won’t be here next year. Nobody else will be able to match him,” says Marius Skjelbæk, consultant for the Norwegian channel.
Johannes Thingnes Boe will now be able to take some time off beforelooking ahead to his third title on Wednesday, when he takes part in the individual men’s race on the slopes of Graubünden.
