Biathlon: Amandine Mengin shines in Arber
Over the last few days, Amandine Mengin has reigned supreme on the IBU Cup biathlon circuit, even though she was making her first appearance on the fourth stage of her 2024/2025 season in Arber (Germany). Winner of the first sprint of the week, then second in the second sprint, she triumphed in the pursuit on Sunday thanks to a 20/20 score.

“It’s obviously a very emotional moment, she tells Nordic Magazine. Frankly, I’m in shock at being able to do this! I’m proud of myself and happy with the biathlon I’m able to put together and offer. I’m having the time of my life and it’s so much fun!”
“I know very well that you have to be fully committed at every race”.
Explaining that she had’t expected to put in such a performance “for a first time in the IBU Cup”, Amandine Mengin said she was “delighted and very proud” of herself. “When I think about it, I can’t find the words to describe how I feel and try to realise what’s just happened, she continues. I guess you could say it makes me dizzy!”
“I feel on cloud nine, but not untouchable, says the 20-year-old from the Vosges. The girls who are with me on the track are all capable of doing exactly the same thing. I know very well that you have to put your heart and soul into every race. I’m immune to anything!”

Over the next few days, in Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia), Amandine Mengin will have to keep up this brilliant state of mind. “I’m having so much fun, I feel no pressure and it’s working so well,” she concludes.
