Biathlon: a cracking standing start and a sixty-third place for Emilien Jacquelin in Oslo-Holmenkollen
Early on Friday afternoon, Emilien Jacquelin from Dauphiné was up against Johannes Thingnes Boe for the crystal globe in the sprint. Only a few points behind his Norwegian rival at the start of the race, the native of Isère could have lifted the precious trophy under the sun of Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway).
Unfortunately, Emilien Jacquelin shot a 5/10 against the targets, scoring 1/5 in the standing round. Despite his disappointment, he explained to La Chaîne L’Equipe: “I arrived for the standing shot and, as soon as I settled down, I felt my left leg shaking… At times like that, there’s not much you can do except fight. That’s what I tried to do, but it made shooting very difficult. I wasn’t able to do any better than that”, he regrets.

Emilien Jacquelin doesn’t have a precise answer as to why his leg is shaking. “Physical fatigue, heat… It’s hard to explain why, but I don’t think it’s pressure,” he says.
Sixty-third in this sprint, the Villardien won’t be at the start of Saturday afternoon’s pursuit. He will finish his season on Sunday in the mass-start.
