Biathlon: the Dauphinois take gold at Les Saisies
On Saturday morning, Martin Minazzi, Camille Grataloup-Manissolle and Emilien Jacquelin from the Dauphiné won the men’s biathlon committee relay at the French Championships in Les Saisies (Savoie). The title, the third in a row for the Dauphiné, came at the end of a well-run race.
“In this race, there’s a team spirit that you don’t get when you’re on your own, which is great! My aim, as a thrower, was to give the relay as close to the lead as possible and I succeeded, so I’m happy,” explained Martin Minazzi, who won two gold medals in two days, to Nordic Magazine.

For U19 Camille Grataloup-Manissolle, then, the aim was to create a gap so as to be able to launch his elder Emilien Jacquelin into an armchair. “I wanted to put him in the best possible position, he confirms. I didn’t think about it and just went for it. It went really well!”
Finally, Emilien Jacquelin, at the end of a long and tiring season on the World Cup, finished the job. “I wasn’t too sure I was going to do this race yesterday [Saturday] because of a little illness that’s been hanging around. I wanted to race for the guys and the committee, he says. So I’m happy to have come and given it my all, even if it’s very hard with the altitude and the lack of training.”
