Biathlon: another small globe for Camille Bened
On Saturday, Camille Bened lifted the first small globe of her career after the pursuit at the IBU Biathlon Cup in Otepää (Estonia). It was a reward that put a smile on the face of the Chablais Nordic biathlete.
24 hours later, at the same venue, it was the little crystal globe of the mass-start that fell into her lap. Third in the last grouped 60-start of the winter on the IBU Cup circuit, Camille Bened beat her German rival Stefanie Scherer to claim her second crystal trophy.

In the final rankings, Camille Bened (205) finished ahead of Paula Botet (171), Stefanie Scherer (168), Voldiya Galmace-Paulin (115) and Rebecca Passler (100).
She takes a 76-point lead overall
The Haut-Savoyard is one of eight Frenchwomen to win at least one IBU Cup Petit Globe, along with Chloé Chevalier (pursuit in 2018), Lou Jeanmonnot (super sprint in 2022), Caroline Colombo (sprint in 2022), Paula Botet (sprint in 2023), Gilonne Guigonnat (mass-start in 2023), Océane Michelon (sprint and pursuit in 2024) and Anaëlle Bondoux (mass-start in 2024).

She is now the only one to have won two with… Océane Michelon. Last year, the Savoyard also won the big globe. With two races to go, Camille Bened, who could follow in her footsteps, now has a 76-point lead over Voldiya Galmace-Paulin, fifth today.
