Biathlon: Germany’s selection for the European championships announced
Absent from theIBU Cup in Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia) earlier in January to prepare for the European Biathlon Championships in Martell-Val Martello (Italy), Germany is in Italy this week with big ambitions.
For this continental competition, the German staff have called in some big guns. On the men’s side, David Zobel, Lucas Fratzscher, Simon Kaiser, Leonhard Pfund, Roman Rees and Fabian Kaskel have been selected to try and counter the Norwegian hegemony.
The women’s squad includes Marlene Fichtner, Anna Weidel, Marion Wiesensarter, Julia Kink, Stefanie Scherer and Johanna Puff. Here too, there are plenty of medal hopes.
