Biathlon: another demonstration by Les Bleues in Arber
The French women’s biathlon team competing in the IBU Cup this season is simply unplayable. Two days after placing five athletes in the top 6, the team did even better this Saturday morning at the second sprint of the week in Arber (Germany), with a magnificent quadruple.

The winner was Gilonne Guigonnat from Chablais (9/10). She came out on top in the standing shot and increased her lead in the final round to win the IBU Cup for the fourth time in her career.

Bressaude’s Amandine Mengin (9/10) confirmed her victory on Thursday by finishing second at 6.5 seconds. In third place was Voldiya Galmace-Paulin (9/10) who, at the age of 19, took her first podium on the satellite circuit.

The French quadruple was completed by Bornand’s Sophie Chauveau. With a score of 8/10 and the best ski time of the day, she finished just off the podium, 22.5 seconds behind the winner.
Norwegians Marthe Kraakstad Johansen (10/10) and Ragnhild Femsteinevik (8/10) followed in the top six, just ahead of Camille Bened (8/10), seventh at 36.9 seconds and the new overall leader. Louise Roguet (4/10), sixty-third and eliminated from Sunday’s pursuit, had a tougher learning curve.
