Biathlon: the Norwegians stand above the rest, France weighed down by a poor stand from Voldiya Galmace-Paulin
This Saturday, theIBU Biathlon Cup in Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia) concluded with mixed events. To kick off the day, a mixed relay was contested, and with Sophie Chauveau, Voldiya Galmace-Paulin, Gaëtan Paturel and Oscar Lombardot, France had high hopes of a podium finish.
But they were thwarted by the standing shot of Montblanc’s Voldiya Galmace-Paulin. In her first IBU Cup relay, the 19-year-old Frenchwomanturned twice on the penalty ring. Gaëtan Paturel then gave Oscar Lombardot a start in a group aiming for the podium, but the Doubiste native picked up the pace at the worst possible moment and Les Bleus had to be content with fourth place.

Up front, Norway (Marthe Kraakstad Johansen, Siri Skar, Sverre Dahlen Aspenes, Isak Frey) took an easy victory, while Austria (Lea Rothschopf, Lara Wagner, Fredrik Muehlbacher, Fabian Muellauer) and Italy (Ilaria Scattolo, Beatrice Trabucchi, Iacopo Leonesio, Nicola Romanin) completed the podium.
