Biathlon: Voldiya Galmace-Paulin back on the IBU Cup podium
After two consecutive podium finishes at the IBU Biathlon Cup in Arber (Germany) last week, Voldiya Galmace-Paulin from Haut-Savoie followed up her success this Wednesday in Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia). With a time of 19/20 in the individual short and the second fastest ski time, the young Frenchwoman finished second in the race, 9.9 seconds behind Norway’s Karoline Erdal (19/20), the winner.

Ukraine’s Anastasiya Merkushyna (20/20) rounded off the podium at 48.4 seconds, just ahead of Sophie Chauveau (18/20), fourth at 55.5 seconds. Sweden’s Emma Nilsson (20/20) and Vosges’ Amandine Mengin (18/20) followed at the flower ceremony.

Gilonne Guigonnat and Camille Bened were ill and therefore did not take part in this race, so the last French rider was Léonie Jeannier (15/20). After an opening 2/5, the Doubiste rider managed to bounce back to set the twentieth fastest time of the day… just behind the new Brazilian Gaia Brunello (18/20), who is definitely performing well in this month of January.
