Biathlon: no podium for Les Bleues at the IBU Cup on Saturday
This Saturday, theIBU Biathlon Cup in Obertilliach (Austria) continued with second sprints. Two days after the race dominated by Paula Botet, this time it was a pursuit event – scheduled for Sunday – that was on the programme.
And, for once, there was no member of the French team on the podium. It was Savoyard Fany Bertrand (9/10), who missed her tenth and final shot, who achieved the best result, taking fourth place, as she had done on Thursday.
Finishing her race 30 sec 3 behind Sweden’s Anna-Karin Heijdenberg (10/10), the brilliant winner and new overall leader, she didn’t make it into the top 3, but went on to win her second flowers ceremony in a row. Behind the day’s winner, Norway’s Aasne Skrede (10/10), for the first time at a similar event since the 2020/2021 season, is 7.7 seconds back.
Italy’s Rebecca Passler (10/10) took third place at 15.9 seconds, followed by Norway’s Siri Skar (9/10) and surprise Latvian Sanita Bulina (9/10) in the top 6.
Further back, we find the green bib of Paula Botet (7/10), best ski time, in eighth place, Sophie Chauveau (8/10) in thirteenth, Voldiya Galmace-Paulin (7/10) in thirtieth, Célia Henaff (7/10), in the lead after the downhill before cracking on the standing, in thirty-first, and Louise Roguet (8/10) in thirty-ninth. Last but not least, thirty-sixth place for Switzerland’s Coralie Langel (9/10).
