Biathlon: victory for Gilonne Guigonnat and Théo Guiraud-Poillot
The 2024/2025 season of the IBU Cup biathlon circuit came to a close early on Saturday afternoon in Otepää (Estonia). It was a single mixed relay that brought the exercise to a close and, as if by symbol, victory went to the French team.

Represented by Théo Guiraud-Poillot and Gilonne Guigonnat in this electric format, it held the lead from start to finish. After an idyllic 0-0 first half of the race, the Blues were even heading for a magnificent demonstration. But then, with a lead of almost a minute, Théo Guiraud-Poillot cracked on the recumbent, spinning twice on the penalty ring.

This penalty did not prevent him from coming out on top. After three more passes on the mats with only 2 picks used, the French won solo.

Germany with Lucas Fratzscher and Anna Weidel (1+12) were second at 42 sec 0 while Norway with Sverre Dahlen Aspenes and Gro Randby (3+14) were third at 58 sec 9 one breath ahead of Sweden with Anton Ivarsson and Emma Nilsson (1+11).
