Biathlon: Isak Frey’s sixth IBU Cup success of the winter
This season, in the men’s IBU Cup biathlon, the boss is Isak Frey. Having already won five times on the B circuit, the Norwegian claimed his sixth victory of the winter in the sprint at Otepää (Estonia) early this afternoon.

With the only 10/10 of the race, the overall leader dominated the proceedings, beating his compatriots Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen (9/10), by 29 seconds 2, and Johannes Dale-Skjevdal (9/10), by 36 seconds 2. He even won the small globe of the speciality with one race to go. The Norwegians even made it a quadruple, with Johan-Olav Botn (8/10) fourth at 38.5 seconds.

Germany’s Lucas Fratzscher (9/10) and Sivert Guttorm Bakken (8/10), Isak Frey’s last (relative) rival for the big globe, completed the flower ceremony. Roman Rees (8/10), Simon Kaiser (6/10), Bornandin Damien Levet (8/10) and Mikulas Karlik (8/10) also made it into the top 10.
Among the other French riders, Théo Guiraud-Poillot (5/10) was twenty-third and Antonin Delsol (5/10), in his first IBU Cup, twenty-eighth.
