Biathlon: unchanged trio in the men’s pursuit at the IBU Cup in Obertilliach
The final race of theIBU Biathlon Cup in Obertilliach (Austria) was the men’s pursuit early on Sunday afternoon. While Norway’s Johannes Dale-Skjevdal (18/20) cruised to a third successive success on the circuit, France’s Valentin Lejeune (19/20) and Oscar Lombardot (18/20) maintained their positions.
On the podium in Saturday’s sprint, they were also on the podium in this first pursuit of the winter. Never threatened by the competition, they put in a second fine collective performance in a row, while Le Doubiste took his third podium in a row.
Christoph Pircher (18/20), Kasper Kalkenberg (18/20) and Nicola Romanin (19/20) then completed the flower ceremony.
Among the other French competitors, Gaëtan Paturel (17/20) was seventeenth, Damien Levet (17/20) nineteenth, Théo Guiraud-Poillot (14/20) thirty-sixth and Corentin Jacob (17/20) forty-first. The Briton Jacques Jefferies (17/20) was twenty-fourth.
