Biathlon: Elvira Oeberg demonstrates at Idre Fjäll
The second women’s sprint of Sweden’s opening biathlon races took place in Idre Fjäll (Sweden) on a sunny Sunday morning. Hanna Oeberg (8/10), who was imperious in the same exercise on Saturday, made a mistake on each run and her time was extended by 50 seconds, but failed to double her tally.
This time it was her little sister Elvira Oeberg (10/10) who put in the perfect performance. Faultless in her shooting and very fast on the cross-country track, as usual, she won the 8km sprint by a wide margin.

Germany’s Janina Hettich-Walz (8/10), second in this race, was pushed back by more than a minute, as was Hanna Oeberg, who was nevertheless third in this Sunday sprint. Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi (8/10), second after the standing sprint, broke down a little in the last lap and had to make do, as she had the day before, with fourth place,… 1 second off the podium.

Anna Magnusson (9/10), Emma Nilsson (10/10), Ella Halvarsson (8/10), Vanessa Voigt (9/10), Marlene Fichtner (9/10) and Julia Tannheimer (7/10) rounded off the morning’s top 10.
Further back are Selina Grotian (7/10) in twelfth place, Sara Andersson (7/10) in thirteenth, Sophia Schneider (8/10) in fourteenth, Elsa Taenglander (17/20) in twentieth and Tuuli Tomingas (7/10) in twenty-fifth.
