Biathlon: Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold has turned the page on her difficult 2024/2025 winter
Last season, after losing out to Lisa Vittozzi in the race for the crystal globe, Norway’s Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold wanted revenge. But her winter was marked by setbacks on the shooting range and an enforced break to treat her heart.
Returning to competition in the middle of the season, she shone in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic), winning the sprint brilliantly. “It was a good boost after a period of uncertainty,” recalls Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold for Dagbladet.

At the end of March, however, she did not take part in the Norwegian championships in Stiklested (Norway), preferring to have her tonsils out. “I’m incredibly happy that I didn’t know what I was getting into, she says with a smile. It was much more painful than I thought, especially as they say it’s worse in adulthood!”
“Preparing for the Olympics at altitude requires extraordinary preparation”
However, this time in the hands of the surgeon has enabled Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold to start the training season, which got underway in Oslo (Norway) over the last few days, in superb form.
“I’m at a level that surprises me a bit, she confirms. I’ve got more energy than before, and I feel that my body isn’t as exhausted as usual because I’ve done fewer races this winter. It also means that I can start my basic training earlier than last year.”

All with one goal in mind: the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, to be held in Antholz (Italy) next February. “Preparing for the Olympics at altitude requires extraordinary preparation,” concludes the Norwegian, ready to pull out all the stops to be queen of the competition.
