Biathlon: Camille Coupé to don her bib again this weekend
The last time Féclazienne Camille Coupé took part in a national biathlon race was on 15 December 2024 at Les Saisies (Savoie). Second in the pursuit, won by Léonie Jeannier, she claimed her first podium finish of the winter, securing a ticket to the World University Games in Turin (Italy) in the process.
But nine days later, on Christmas Eve, she crashed while cross-country skiing, rupturing the cruciate ligaments in her left knee. Camille Coupé underwent immediate surgery and had to put the end of her winter behind her, resuming training in June.

But her troubles didn’t stop there, as the 24-year-old from Savoie had to undergo surgery again in August.
I was still having pain and major mobility problems with my knee,” she confided at the time in our columns. I saw the surgeon […] and we decided to operate straight away so as not to let it drag on. The aim of the operation was to clean out the inside of my knee because of the small fibroses that were present following the first operation very quickly after my fall [she was suffering from Cyclops syndrome, editor’s note].”
“There will be tension, that’s for sure, but it’s all positive and good energy”.
Two months later, Camille Coupé is smiling again thanks to the success of this second operation.
My knee bled a lot because of adhesions from the first operation,” she told Nordic Magazine. So it took quite a long time, and it took me three weeks to get back to training skis and wheels. After that, things really improved from mid-September, when I passed a milestone six weeks after the operation. I started to do good work on both legs without thinking too much about the knee.

So much so that the biathlete from Les Bauges is now ready to put on her race number again this weekend at the Summer Tour in La Féclaz (Savoie). I’m really excited to be back competing ten months after my injury,” she says with delight, even though she’s been ill for the last ten days, probably because of a stroke. There will be tension, that’s for sure, but it’s all positive and good energy. I can’t wait to do this Summer Tour at home!
This return to the circuit will be like a renaissance for Camille Coupé, who will be aiming for selection for the IBU Cup this winter.
