Biathlon: a 60th individual podium on the world circuit for Quentin Fillon-Maillet
Since he began his World Cup biathlon career in December 2013 in the deafening din of the Sylvie-Becaert stadium in Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie), Quentin Fillon-Maillet has taken 366 starts on the most prestigious of circuits.
On Saturday, by finishing third in the sprint in Östersund (Sweden), he reached an important milestone: 60 individual podium finishes (17 wins, 23 second places, 20 third places). A figure that inevitably flatters the five-time Olympic medallist.

I’m pretty proud of this consistency since the start of my career,” he told Nordic Magazine as he stepped off the podium. Proud to have been present on the World Cup circuit without coming down [in the IBU Cup, since the 2013/20114 season, editor’s note], to have won medals at the World Championships almost every year and to have succeeded at the Olympic Games, a competition that made me dream when I was a kid.

Far from being satisfied, Quentin Fillon-Maillet is still performing in the World Cup at the age of 32, finding solutions to the problems that can get in his way , such as his recently reworked prone shot.
I’m continuing to push all this forward,” he says, passionate about a sport that has become his profession over the years. It’s a lot of investment, but it’s races like this sprint that allow you to put energy into the machine.
