Biathlon: three Swiss women in the top 10 for the first time
In Friday’s women’ssprint at the Biathlon World Cup in Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway), Amy Baserga, Lena Haecki-Gross and Aita Gasparin finished sixth, seventh and tenth respectively in the first race of the weekend.

It was a historic result overall, as Switzerland had never before managed to place three of its biathletes in the world’s top 10. It’s a fine reward for a team that continues to make progress, and which had already come close to some fine results at the World Championships held at home on the slopes of Lenzerheide (Switzerland) in February.
WhileAmy Baserga and Aita Gasparin scored an excellent 10/10 on the mats, their compatriot Lena Haecki-Gross was content with a 9/10 and good form on skis to climb to seventh place, just ahead of Sweden’s Hanna Oeberg and her two errors.

A high-flying performance that will enable the three Swiss representatives to start in contact with the best in the pursuit scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Indeed, Amy Baserga will start just twenty seconds behind third-placed Suvi Minkkinen.
