Biathlon: Coralie Langel, discovering the World Cup in Le Grand-Bornand
Back in April, just a few weeks after officially announcing her move to the Swiss national team, the country of her paternal grandfather, Coralie Langel told our columns that she had been inspired by the career of Maya Cloetens. Barred by the competition in France, Cloetens has been flourishing for several seasons with the Belgian national team.
“I think it showed me that I could do it. Only good things can happen to me”, said the Franco-Swiss at the time. Six months later, Coralie Langel revealed on Monday evening that she would be in the Swiss squad for this week’s World Cup in Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie).
“Honestly, this is huge for me! I’m extremely happy, and it seems almost unreal to think that I’ll be able to go,” she explained to Nordic Magazine. Of course, it was one of the objectives of my season, but my results in the IBU Cup were, for me, mixed. Of course, I had a good top 15, my ski times were better in the second week and there were a lot of interesting things… but I was more ready to continue in the IBU Cup to continue all that work. In the end, it will be in the World Cup, but I’ll take it, let’s go, full gas!
“I’m going in with a big smile on my face and a lot of motivation and commitment!
To round off a year 2025 full of twists and turns, Coralie Langel will be taking part in the Bornandin sprint on Thursday from 2.15pm. This will be her first foray into the big time, and will take place in the fury of the Sylvie-Becaert stadium.

“I’m going in with a big smile on my face and a lot of motivation and commitment! I’m just going to give it my all. My main objective will be to have no regrets and to give it 100%,” says the biathlete from Foncine-la-Haut (Jura), who has no hesitation in thanking her coaches for the selection and the trust placed in her.
Perhaps this opportunity is a small reward for the two years I spent on my own, during which I hung in there after my release from the French teams,” she concludes. I’ll take whatever I can get. It’s just a bonus, nothing but fun.
