Biathlon: Lisa Theresa Hauser returns to the top 6 in a sprint for the first time since… December 2022
Since finishing third in the final overall ranking for the 2021/2022 Olympic season, Austria’s Lisa Theresa Hauser has struggled to return to the top of the World Cup rankings.
Without a podium finish since December 2022, the biathlete born in Kitzbühel (Austria) is looking for confidence. She remains, however, the leader of her national team and a sure thing on the international stage. All she needed was a major coup to confirm her return to form.

On Friday night in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic), Lisa Theresa Hauser produced the performance she had been looking for for months. Fifth in the sprint at 10/10 and just a few seconds from the podium, the 31-year-old Austrian was back with a smile on her face.
Something snapped during his run
“It’s almost unbelievable! It’s been a tough season so far and to be back at the flower ceremony is really cool,” she enthused in a statement from theAustrian Ski Association. At the start of the race, I wasn’t feeling very well, but as the race went on, things got better.”

It was the first time since 3 December 2022 that Lisa Theresa Hauser had taken part in a flower ceremony in a sprint, the most important format in biathlon. On that day, the Austrian won for the fifth and, until then, last time in her career.
