Biathlon : despite her rifle problem, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold will be at the start of the pursuit
Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, who returned to biathlon World Cup competition on Thursday after missing last week’s stage in Ruhpolding (Germany), probably wasn’t expecting to have a misfortune in her first race of the Antholz (Italy) stage.

After starting the competition with a good 5/5, the Norwegian then appeared on screen just before her standing shot with her rifle completely unhooked from her back. It was a rare sight, to say the least, and one that the Scandinavian took the time to explain in the mixed zone.
” I had to hold it so it didn’t fall while trying to get my sticks out of the way so I could get my shot off. “Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold at NRK
On the last bump, I suddenly saw that the whole back of my rifle had come off,” she told NRK. Then I had to hold it so that it didn’t fall while trying to get my sticks out so that I could shoot.
And although she confessed that she had “never experienced anything like this before”, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold nonetheless managed to keep her composure to achieve a solid 4/5 in these conditions. And while she was in doubt for a long time about a possible disqualification, the 28-year-old biathlete was well placed in twenty-third place on the day.

The story has a happy ending for Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, who will be able to take part in the pursuit on Saturday: “I pointed my gun in the wrong direction, but I took the time to change rifles after my shot and use the spare,” she explains.
