Biathlon : Johannes Thingnes Boe, the best of 2024
As the year 2025 kicked off a few hours ago, Nordic Magazine takes one last look ahead to 2024. For the occasion, the editors have decided to draw up a ranking for the biathlete of the year 2024, taking into account only the individual World Cup races (and therefore putting the World Championships to one side).
The method adopted was simple: add together all the World Cup points won by the athletes during the 2024 calendar year, i.e. the points from the stages inOberhof (Germany), Ruhpolding (Germany), Antholz (Italy), Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway), Soldier Hollow (USA) and Canmore (Canada) in the 2023/2024 season and the races in Kontiolahti (Finland), Hochfilzen (Austria) and Annecy – Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) in the 2024/2025 season.

On the men’s side, the podium was exclusively Norwegian. Johannes Thingnes Boe was the logical winner of the honorary title of Biathlete of the Year 2024. With 1,347 points, he was well ahead of his compatriots Tarjei Boe (1,123) and Sturla Holm Lægreid (1,015).
Four Frenchmen in the top 15
Emilien Jacquelin (909), the best of the rest, finished just off the podium , while Peiserot Eric Perrot (791), who has been very consistent in 2024, rounded off the top 5 this year. Next up are Sebastian Samuelsson (744), Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen (739), Tommaso Giacomel (678), Johannes Dale-Skjevdal (621) and tenth-placed Endre Stroemsheim (582).

Germany’s Philipp Nawrath (581) follows, then the Jurassien Quentin Fillon-Maillet (529), Justus Strelow (523), the Vosges rider Fabien Claude (510) and Johannes Kuehn (496), the last member of the top 15.
