Biathlon: the fever stronger than Johannes Thingnes Boe
At midday on Friday, theNorwegian Biathlon Association announced the withdrawal of Johannes Thingnes Boe for the final World Cup races in Pokljuka (Slovenia).
Ill and tenth in the individual short on Thursday afternoon, the five-time winner of the crystal globe decided to call it a day on the eve of the mass start. “Looking back, I shouldn’t have taken part in this individual race, admits Johannes Thingnes Boe. Going skiing when you’re ill is not a long-term choice. I now hope to be fully fit for my final races in Holmenkollen in a week’s time.”

Currently second in the overall rankings , 39 points behind his team-mate Sturla Holm Lægreid, Johannes Thingnes Boe could well have said goodbye to a sixth overall ranking because of this illness.
