10:49. Like her Swedish counterpart Anna-Karin Heijdenberg, who pulled out of the Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) races at the last minute, Julia Kink will not be defending her chances at the Aravis Biathlon World Cup.
In a press release, the German Federation explained that the 20-year-old biathlete would not be taking part in the racesat the Haute-Savoie weekend due to an “infection”. Katharina Blume, the national team doctor, explained that the aim was not to prevent the young woman from recovering “so that she can get back to full fitness in 2025”.
