Biathlon: the World Team Challenge takes place this Saturday
Between the end-of-year festivities, some of the world’s best biathletes traditionally get together for an evening at the football stadium in Gelsenkirchen (Germany) to take part in the World Team Challenge.
This year is no exception, with the biathlon exhibition competition taking place on Saturday 28 December. For France, Julia Simon and Fabien Claude , winners of the last two editions, will be attempting an incredible three-peat.

To do so, they will have to beat off competition from nine other duos in a mass-start (scheduled for 18:10) followed by a pursuit (start at 19:27) at the end of which the final rankings will be known.
It should be noted that the Talent Team Challenge (3.50pm), scheduled for mid-afternoon and reserved for juniors, will not see any French riders battling for victory on the German track.
