11:00. This Sunday 6 April, a week after the end of the French championships held at the resort, the champions of Les Saisies (Savoie) will be celebrated in the centre of the Beaufort village.
Julia Simon (biathlon), Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (biathlon), Karl Tabouret (para cross-country skiing and para biathlon), Clara Direz (alpine skiing) and Eliott Piccard (ski cross) will all be present. This season, the first three have won at least one world gold medal.
A parade, with the athletes at the head of the procession, is scheduled to start at 5pm from the Tourist Office roundabout to Le Signal. French flags will be handed out to members of the public wishing to take part in the march before the start of the procession, and the bells will be rung.
A speech by the champions and a signing session will then take place between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m. , while a refreshment bar with live music will be available throughout the evening.
The programme
- 5.00 pm: Start of the procession on foot from the Tourist Office roundabout
The athletes will lead the way, followed by the public, flag in hand, who will also ring the bells of pride! - 5.30pm: speeches on stage followed by book signings
- 6.30pm: end of signing sessions
