Biathlon: Les Bleues train in Bessans
Gathered in Bessans (Savoie) since Friday morning, Julia Simon, Lou Jeanmonnot, Jeanne Richard, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Gilonne Guigonnat, Sophie Chauveau and Océane Michelon, the seven members of the French A biathlon team who will start their winter in the World Cup, have started the last training camp of their preparation on the Savoyard snow.
“The main aim of this gathering is to get back out on the snow and do some specific work at race pace, Cyril Burdet told Nordic Magazine a few days ago about the event. We’ll also be handing in an important number for the selection races [on 14, 16 and 17 November, editor’s note], even if there’s nothing at stake for the group. It will still be an opportunity to race against girls who will be preparing this first event as a real objective. We’ll be able to test ourselves against the best in France and get into competition mode as we head into the final stretch before the World Cup.”
On Saturday morning, with less than a week to go before the selection races in Bessan in which they will be taking part, Les Bleues took part in their first real biathlon session on snow since the end of last winter. Photo album.
