Biathlon: Julia Simon is back on the World Cup circuit
The return of Julia Simon from Beaufort for the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen (Austria) was expected, but now it’s official. On Monday, the French Ski Federation (FFS ) announced the list of athletes selected for the event, and the ten-time world champion, whose one-month suspension ended on Monday, is included.
While Les Bleues still have seven quotas available for this second stage of the 2025/2026 season, it is Vosges’ Amandine Mengin, the Frenchwoman who performed least well in Östersund (Sweden), who is paying the price for this return. The Bressaude returns to the IBU Cup and will compete this week in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna (Italy).

Accompanying Julia Simon in the Tyrol will be Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Lou Jeanmonnot, Océane Michelon, Jeanne Richard, Gilonne Guigonnat and Camille Bened, currently third overall in the World Cup.
There has also been a change in the men’s squad, with Doubs-based Oscar Lombardot taking Antonin Guigonnat’s place. Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Emilien Claude, Emilien Jacquelin, Fabien Claude and Eric Perrot will continue on.
