Biathlon: a French double in the women’s sprint at the Junior Cup in Goms
A great day for French biathlon. A few hours after Léo Carlier and Antonin Delsol claimed podium finishes in the men’s sprint at the Junior Cup in Goms (Switzerland), Lou-Anne Dupont Ballet-Baz and Maëla Correia followed suit early on Thursday afternoon.

On the facilities of the Swiss stadium, the first-named went straight for a magnificent victory, her first individual international win. With a time of 9/10 and the third fastest time on skis, Lou-Anne Dupont Ballet-Baz beat her compatriot, also at 9/10, by 27 sec 5.

In fact, there were two runners-up and no third, as Ukraine’s Tetiana Tarasiuk (9/10) finished in the same time as Maëla Correia. The flower ceremony, at the foot of the podium, was completed by Slovakia’s Michaela Strakova (10/10), Austria’s Selina Ganner (10/10) and France’s Louise Roguet (7/10).

Juliette Oliva (7/10) was tenth, followed by Maëlle Achoui (9/10) in thirteenth place, Namou Candau-Armand (7/10) in twenty-second and Thémice Fontaine (5/10) in thirty-fifth.
