The Junior Cup resumed on Thursday on the slopes of Jakuszyce, Poland. There were no French athletes competing at this stage, as the French contingent decided to skip the Polish competitions.

And just a few minutes after Ilona Plechacova’s victory in the women’s race, it was a German who took the spoils in the men’s race. Linus Kesper, who scored one of the few 10/10s of the day, battled right to the end of the course. Performing well in the final lap, the young biathlete beat Croatia’s Matija Legovic by just over 10 seconds.

Behind this leading duo, David Elias thought for a long time that he was going to win. But the Czech, also 10/10 against the targets, broke down on his skis in the final hectometres. In the end, he finished in third place, more than 17 seconds behind the winner.
