Biathlon: Léo Carlier on the podium, Lionel Jouannaud fourth
France shines at the Junior Biathlon Cup in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna (Italy). A few hours after Violette Bony ‘s success in the women’s sprint, it was the Franc-Comtois Léo Carlier who shone in the men’s event.

Having scored 10/10 against the targets, he finished third in this sprint and thus climbed onto his first individual international podium. Germany’s Elias Seidl (9/10), untouchable on skis, won with 28 sec 2 ahead of Italy’s Davide Compagnoni (9/10). At 30 sec 2, Léo Carlier completed the podium… a breath ahead of his compatriot Lionel Jouannaud (9/10), in fourth place.

Ukrainian Mykhailo Khmil (8/10) and Czech Petr Hak (9/10) took part in the flower ceremony to reward the top six. Among the other French riders, Ian Martinet (9/10) was tenth, Guillaume Poirot (7/10) twenty-first, Lou Thiévent (9/10) twenty-fifth, Edgar Geny (6/10) thirty-fourth and Benjamin De Grimaudet De Rochebouet (6/10) sixty-first.
