Biathlon: French women on fire at the Junior Cup
After a one-day break on Friday, the Junior Cup in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna (Italy) is back in action this Saturday with a sprint. In the morning, it was the women who were on deck and we saw a French victory. Annécienne Violette Bony, who started very early in the race with bib number 3, put in a magnificent performance, scoring 10/10 and skiing a more than decent time.

Taking command of the rankings as she crossed the finish line, the Team ENB member had to wait for long minutes for all her rivals to perform. In the end, nobody did better than her and Violette Bony took her first international victory at the age of 21.

At 13 sec 3, Italy’s Ilaria Scattolo (9/10) finished second on home soil, while Vosges’ Amandine Mengin (9/10) completed the podium at 21 sec 0 ahead of Germany’s Alma Siegismund (9/10). The rest of the flower ceremony was made up of Latvia’s Estere Volfa (8/10) and Transalpine Francesca Brocchiero (10/10).

At 18, Savoyard Namou Candau-Armand (8/10) finished a fine tenth, while Célia Henaff (7/10) was eighteenth, Lola Bugeaud (8/10) twenty-first, Lou-Anne Dupont Ballet-Baz (8/10) twenty-fifth and Eva Laine (4/10) fifty-third.
