By finishing second in the individual event at the Junior Biathlon World Championships in Östersund (Sweden) on Thursday lunchtime, Bresse’s Amandine Mengin secured the Junior Cup small globe in the speciality.
With a total of 130 points amassed throughout the season, she is 3 points ahead of Célia Henaff (127), crowned world champion today, to lift crystal for the very first time in her career.

She is the sixth Frenchwoman to win a small speciality globe in the Junior Cup after Léna Arnaud (pursuit in 2016), Lou Jeanmonnot (sprint in 2018), Jeanne Richard (pursuit in 2022), Léonie Jeannier (individual in 2023) and Anaëlle Bondoux (sprint and pursuit in 2023). Lou Jeanmonnot also won the overall crystal globe in 2018.
