Biathlon : Hanna Oeberg needs a string of sessions to get ahead
Last weekend, when she was due to take part in the opening Swedish biathlon races in Idre Fjäll (Sweden), Hanna Oeberg finally withdrew from the events. Affected by a cold, the Scandinavian even stopped her training to take time to recover from the illness.

A week later, the double Olympic champion is back on her skis to prepare for the World Cup in Kontiolahti (Finland), which starts this Saturday. “Today was my first difficult session After stopping, I want to ski more and more, she told SVT Sport. It’s important to be patient over the next few days so that I can reach a very good level in the coming weeks.”
However, the 29-year-old biathlete could well have to make do without the first races of the season. With a mixed relay, a mixed singles relay and both men’s and women’s relays on the programme, the native of Kiruna (Sweden) would opt for a dead end in order to fully recover.

“We haven’t decided when I’ll do the first race. There will be two days of relays to start with, and I’ll need to be in good shape to compete in the individual race scheduled for next Wednesday”, she told our journalists. So it won’t be until 4 December that Hanna Oeberg will be back among the elite in a format in which she was crowned Olympic champion in 2018 in Pyeongchang (South Korea).
