Biathlon: Eric Perrot can’t get enough
This Thursday evening at 19:00, Peiserot Eric Perrot will step into the starting gate of the Biathlon World Cup sprint in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic). Just over two weeks after winning his first individual world gold medal in Lenzerheide (Switzerland), the biathlete from Savoie is back on the regular circuit.

Except that Eric Perrot’s day-to-day life is far from a walk in the park, as the 23-year-old is not satisfied with the end of the season. “I may be ambitious, but you have to be realistic and say that it’s going to be a long way to go to get the first two places in the general standings, you have to be realistic and it’s going to be a long way to go to get them,” he told Nordic Magazine.
The battle for the overall podium promises to be an exciting one
Nearly 300 points behind Sturla Holm Lægreid, the current leader in the rankings, Eric Perrot is therefore concentrating on the last step of the podium, which he currently occupies. His closest pursuers are Emilien Jacquelin on 18 points, Tarjei Boe on 32 and Sebastian Samuelsson on 36.
“I’m going to try to defend this position and I think we’re going to have to be on the offensive to do that. I know that I’m getting fitter as the season goes on, so I’ve got some great things to play for if I’m to hold on to third place overall, he says. As usual, the aim will be to go out and win! In any case, this experience will serve me well in future years, when I’ll have big ambitions for the general standings.”

Thirty-fourth in the final winter rankings in 2023, eleventh in 2024 and possibly third in 2025, Eric Perrot will certainly be aiming for the supreme prize next season. The first year in the 21st century without the sacred monsters of his discipline: Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, Martin Fourcade and Johannes Thingnes Boe.
