11:24. This Sunday morning, the second sprint of the Finnish biathlon selections took place in Kontiolahti (Finland), the same place where the World Cup kicks off in less than two weeks’ time.
On the men’s side, this time it was Arttu Heikkinen who came out on top. At 9/10, he beat Jimi Klemettinen (8/10) by 29 sec 3 and Otto Invenius (10/10) by 35 sec 7. Jaakko Ranta (8/10), Heikki Laitinen (7/10), Olli Hiidensalo (7/10), Saturday’s winner, and Tuomas Harjula (7/10) followed in the rankings.
The women’s race went to Venla Lehtonen, as on the previous day. Despite a 7/10, she got the better of Inka Hämäläinen (8/10), second at 0 sec 6, and Erika Jänkä (9/10), third at 43 sec 1. Sonja Leinamo (6/10) and Noora Kaisa Keränen (8/10) completed the day’s top 5. Belgian Rieke de Maeyer (8/10) was ninth.
