Biathlon: start of the World Cup this Saturday in Kontiolahti
The 2024/2025 Biathlon World Cup kicks off this Saturday at the Kontiolahti Biathlon Stadium in Finland. The season kicks off at 13:15 with the start of the mixed single relay.
France’s Quentin Fillon-Maillet and Julia Simon will be among the favourites in this race and will be up against Norway’s Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen and Juni Arnekleiv, Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson and Ella Halvarsson, Germany’s Vanessa Voigt and Justus Strelow, Italy’s Samuela Comola and Lukas Hofer, Austria’s Lisa Theresa Hauser and Simon Eder and Finland’s Suvi Minkkinen and Otto Invenius.
Switzerland, the United States, Latvia, Slovenia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Canada will also be keeping an eye on.

Then, at 3.45pm, the start of the mixed relay will be given. Once again, the French team of Lou Jeanmonnot, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Eric Perrot and Emilien Jacquelin will be looking to win.
Facing them will be the Norwegians(Karoline Knotten, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, Johannes Dale-Skjevdal, Vebjoern Soerum), the Italians(Dorothea Wierer, Hannah Auchentaller, Didier Bionaz, Tommaso Giacomel), the Swedes(Anna Magnusson, Elvira Oeberg, Jesper Nelin, Martin Ponsiluoma) and the Germans(Johanna Puff, Franziska Preuss, Danilo Riethmueller, Philipp Horn).
