Biathlon : Eric Perrot and Emilien Jacquelin serve the Grand-Bornand public
The third day of competition at the biathlon world cup in Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) couldn’t have got off to a better start this Saturday lunchtime. Eric Perrot and Emilien Jacquelin gave their supporters a fantastic present in front of an incredibly large and noisy crowd.
In the pursuit, the two Frenchmen finished on the podium in a race they started with bibs 7 and 8 on their backs. The French biathletes were in the thick of things from the prone shots onwards , with a perfect 10/10 to their credit, but they also had to work hard on the track to secure their place.
And whileEmilien Jacquelin crashed out on one occasion in the final salvo of the competition, his Savoie team-mate went all the way. The Peiserot was the only one of the fifty-eight competitors lining up at the start to score 20/20. The Blues reversed their position and were separated by just 10 seconds at the finish.

In front of them, Johannes Thingnes Boe did some Johannes Thingnes Boe. Quick on his skis and scoring 19/20, the Norwegian quickly took the lead and never relinquished it. Offering a sublime recital to the many fans in the stands and along the track, the world number one confirmed that he was back on top.

After starting with bib 24 following a difficult sprint, Fabien Claude made a fine comeback, crossing the line in twelfth place after shooting 17/20. Antonin Guigonnat (18/20) also made up a few places, moving up from twenty-seventh to fourteenth.
Quentin Fillon-Maillet, on the other hand, had a real ordeal on the mats. Faulted seven times, the Grandvallier, despite setting the sixth fastest ski time of the race, was never able to play a leading role. Behind him, Emilien Claude couldn’t find the solution either. The man from Bassur finished in thirty-third place after signing the 17/20.
