Biathlon : five women and four men to represent Italy in Grand-Bornand
Without Lisa Vittozzi, who has been absent since the start of the season and won’t be making her comeback until 2025, Italy is trying, as best it can, to make its presence felt at the start of the biathlon World Cup season. Starting this Thursday, the nine Italian biathletes will attempt to take centre stage in the third stage of the winter season in Le Grand-Bornand, Haute-Savoie.

In the women’s category, the Italians will be led by their superstar Dorothea Wierer, who has made an unexpectedly good start to the season. The oldest member of the women’s team will be joined by Michela Carrara, Samuela Comola, Hannah Auchentaller and Martina Trabucchi in the Aravis.

In the men’s contingent, Tommaso Giacomel will also be taking part. The 24-year-old biathlete, who returned to the top 10 for the first time this winter in the pursuit atHochfilzen (Austria), will be taking with him Lukas Hofer, Daniele Cappellari and Didier Bionaz.
