Biathlon: time for the chases in Grand-Bornand
After two days of sprints, this Saturday’s biathlon world cup in Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) will feature pursuits. At 12.15pm, the women’s race gets underway with Hanna Oeberg starting first, just 3 seconds ahead of Lou Jeanmonnot.
In total, eighteen riders were within a minute of each other at the start: Dorothea Wierer (+11 sec), Lisa Vittozzi (+15 sec), Paulina Batovska Fialkova (+16 sec), Suvi Minkkinen (+27 sec), Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (+28 sec), Karoline Knotten (+30 sec), blue bib Maren Kirkeeide (+42 sec), Deedra Irwin (+44 sec),Ella Halvarsson (+45 sec), Tereza Vobornikova (+47 sec), Marketa Davidova (+48 sec), Julia Simon (+49 sec), Regina Ermits (+56 sec), Alina Stremous (+57 sec), Anna Weidel (+58 sec) and Franziska Preuss (+1 sec 0).

Then the start of the men’s pursuit at 2.45pm , with no fewer than twenty-two biathletes racing in under a minute, a record since 2021.
Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen will be leading the way, followed by Johannes Dale-Skjevdal at 4 seconds, Emilien Jacquelin at 5, the yellow number Johan-Olav Botn at 6, Sivert Guttorm Bakken and Sebastian Samuelsson at 9, Martin Ponsiluoma at 12, the red number Eric Perrot at 14, Vitezslav Hornig at 23, Philipp Nawrath at 26, Sturla Holm Lægreid and Jesper Nelin at 32, Justus Strelow at 35, Olli Hiidensalo at 37, Tero Seppälä at 38, Fabien Claude at 44, Joscha Burkhalter at 45, David Zobel at 51, Simon Eder, Quentin Fillon-Maillet and Campbell Wright at 52 and Lukas Hofer at 59.
