The Johannes Thingnes Boe machine is on the move more than ever. Second in the sprint and brilliantly victorious in the pursuit, the Norwegian once again earned himself a place on the podium this Sunday in the closing mass-start of the men’s biathlon world cup competitions in Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie).

Another good result for the world number one, who now has a healthy 115-point lead in the overall standings over his nearest rival, none other than his team-mate and fourth-placed rider on the day, Sturla Holm Lægreid. For the Blues, Emilien Jacquelin remains in third place, but the man from the Isère region is now separated from his compatriot Eric Perrot by just five points.

Eric Perrot started with the red mass-start leader’s bib, but gave it up to Germany’s Danilo Riethmueller, who finished an excellent second in the day’s race.
