Biathlon: Grand-Bornand’s big week kicks off this Thursday with the women’s sprint
After three days of training, the biathlon World Cup in Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) kicks off on Thursday with the women’s sprint. According to the draw, Austria’s Anna Andexer has inherited bib number 1 and will be the first to go at 2.15pm.
Ahead of the start of the favourites are Natalia Sidorowicz (2), Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (3), Eve Bouvard (4), Sara Andersson (6), Julia Simon (7), Paulina Batovska Fialkova (9), Milena Todorova (11), Ukaleq Slettemark (12) and Venla Lehtonen (14).

In the blue group, then, Lotte Lie (16), Anamarija Lampic (17), Vanessa Voigt (18), Lea Meier (19), Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (20), Baiba Bendika (21), Julia Tannheimer (22), Deedra Irwin (23), Polona Klemencic (24), Tereza Vobornikova (25), Anna Weidel (26), Janina Hettich-Walz (28), Franziska Preuss (29), Marthe Kraakstad Johansen (30), Maya Cloetens (32), Regina Ermits (34), Joanna Jakiela (36), Lena Haecki-Gross (37), Sonja Leinamo (38) and Marit Oeygard (42).

Switzerland’s Amy Baserga (44) will open the red group, followed by Anna-Karin Heijdenberg (45), Suvi Minkkinen (46), Lisa Vittozzi (48), Julia Kink (49), Océane Michelon (50), Elvira Oeberg (52), Aasne Skrede (53), Camille Bened (54), Lou Jeanmonnot (56) and Ella Halvarsson (58), Aita Gasparin (59), Hanna Oeberg (60), Karoline Knotten (62), Dorothea Wierer (64), the yellow and red Anna Magnusson (66), Paula Botet (67), the blue Maren Kirkeeide (68), Lucie Charvatova (70), Lisa Theresa Hauser (72) and Anna Gandler (73) will follow.
