Biathlon: the first sprint of the Swiss selections has taken place
On Wednesday morning, the first sprint of the Swiss biathlon selections took place in Lenzerheide (Switzerland). The sprint was held in ideal conditions, with slightly sub-zero temperatures, and was used to gauge the Swiss biathletes for the last two men’s and women’s World Cup tickets.
At the 2025 World Championships place, Dajan Danuser (8/10) won the men’s race after 24 min 55 sec 6 of effort, probably securing himself a ticket to the World Cup. James Pacal (9/10), second at 3 sec 9, should do the same, while Niklas Hartweg (6/10) completes the podium at 7 sec 5, just ahead of Ukrainian Dmytro Pidruchnyi (8/10), fourth at 8 sec 0.

The rest of the top 10 was made up of Gion Stalder (10/10), Felix Ullmann (9/10), Matthias Riebli (8/10), Jeremy Finello (6/10) and Sandro Bovisi (8/10). Arnaud Du Pasquier (6/10) was a disappointment, however, coming thirteenth after missing three targets in the standing shoot.
Coralie Langel sixth in the women’s race won by a Slovakian
In the women’s race, it was Slovakia’s Paulina Batovska Fialkova (9/10) who came out on top. She beat Aita Gasparin (9/10) by 24.6 seconds and Lea Meier (8/10) by 29.2 seconds. Lydia Mettler (9/10) and Susanna Meinen (7/10), who followed in the rankings, took a big step towards the World Cup.
